San Pellegrino’s new campaign, “Three Minutes in Italy,” created by Deeplocal and Ogilvy, features a telepresent experience that lets Americans look around the Sicilian town of Taormina from their own homes. It works by strapping an iPad to a remote-controlled robot that offers web viewers a point-of-view experience of Sicily. Users need to log on to the Facebook app and select one of two experiences, and thereafter connect to the bot and essentially create a video call with the San Pellegrino brand ambassador and tour guide. If you don’t choose the robot tour experience, there’s also a Skybot that offers 360-degree panoramas of the surrounding area.
