Hot on the heels of last week’s speculation that Apple & Intel’s Thunderbolt technology would be coming to mobile devices, the USB standards consortium has announced that USB 3.0 will also soon be coming to mobile. Both Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 promise greater connectivity between data sources and devices for faster backups and content swaps.
We’re all in for faster transfer speeds, however, this story isn’t necessarily about Thunderbolt vs. USB, it’s more about cables vs. persistent cloud/wifi backups.
