IDC reports that 50% of cell phones shipped in 2005 contained camera technology. They forecast that percentage will increase to 75% in 2009.
Those stats came to mind this Holiday Weekend while stolling around the Marin County Fair. One of the events at the fair is the "36th Annual Festival of Short Film & Video." Back in 1970 it must have taken a significant amount of motivation and determation to make a film worth entering. The teens walking around the fair could literally bang something out the day of the contest — assuming of course they would rather enter some sort of artsy contenst rather than post their best work to their own profile page online…….
