CES 2015 Preview: Top Ten Press Events We Are Looking Forward To

With CES 2015 just around the corner, we here at IPG Media Lab are getting excited at all the new technologies and innovative gadgets that will be unveiled at Las Vegas. So this week, we’re on the lookout for the can’t-miss events and launches, starting with the top ten press events:

1. State of the Consumer Tech Industry and 2015 CES Trends to Watch

  • When: Sunday, January 4, 2-3 PM
  • Why: We’re releasing our own 2015 Outlook on consumer, technology, and media trends, but it never hurts to hear what others think will be big in 2015.

2. Chevrolet Press Conference: Powerful. Simple. Connected.

  • When: Sunday, January 4, 7-10 PM
  • Why: We believe the future of the car is connected, especially as an emerging media channel.

3. Invitation to a New Automotive Experience

  • When: Monday, January 5, 8:30-9 AM
  • Why: Because attendees are offered a firsthand look at the technology that will revolutionize the automotive industry, and we’ll admit—we’re intrigued to see if Keyfree will really “forever change the way we experience a vehicle”.

4. Honeywell HomMed Press Conference

  • When: Monday, January 5, 9:30-10 AM
  • Why: We want to see how Honeywell plans to deliver a more comprehensive way for consumers to understand their data and communicate with their physicians.

5. iDevices Connected – Home Automation with HomeKit Integration

  • When: Monday, January 5, 11:30 AM-12 PM
  • Why: Because Internet of Things (IoT) is a major area of interest for the Lab, especially in its application in home automation.

6. Samsung Press Conference at the 2015 CES

  • When: Monday, January 5, 2-2:45 PM
  • Why: Because Samsung has been pushing hard for wearables and VR technology, both of which the Lab is keeping an eye on.

7. Precise Wearable Vitals Monitoring for Health and Fitness

  • When: Tuesday, January 6, 2-3 PM
  • Why: Because we believe that wearables will be making waves next year with the release of Apple Watch, and we are curious to see what Sensogram Technologies’ innovative biosensors can do for wearables in monitoring health and fitness.

8. The Smart Garden Revolution

  • When: Wednesday, January 7, 11:30 AM-12:30 PM
  • Why: GreenIQ and Parrot promised an innovative garden automation solution, which should be a nice organic counterpoint to all the tech-heavy solutions in the conference center.

9. Storj: The Future of Cloud Storage

  • When: Wednesday, January 7, 1:30-2:30 PM
  • Why: Because data security breach has been a major concern for consumer privacy and we are interested in what Storj calls “the world’s first decentralized cloud storage network” that provides “the cheapest, most secure and private cloud storage”

10. Tech-orize Your Home

  • When: Wednesday, January 7, 2:45-3:45 PM
  • Why: Because we’re fascinated by the awful word “tech-orize” and would like to see how OmniMount intents to use smart accessories to seamlessly elevate the use of technology in every room of the home.
