I virtually love you

(iStock)You have less than 48 hours from the time that you read this post to consolidate your emotions and find a way to present them to your loved ones.

Valentine’s Day is here and the Lab is here to help you express your emotions…without leaving your desk.

Our favorite new media valentine is found at Animoto.com.  For the time that it takes to fill out a standard registration form, you can produce a free video for your loved one.

The standard Animoto account (read: free) gives permission to upload 12-15 images and one song.  Less than five minutes later, your images will be sliding and scooting, merging and crossing across the screen to the beat of your uploaded drum.  Once you are on the player page, click on the bright red heart and share your video.  Your valentine will receive an email with a link to your masterpiece.  That link will take them to a page on the Animoto site with a huge red heart and a play button in the middle of it.  How lovely is that?

As if a personalized video delivered right to your valentine’s inbox wasn’t enough, check out these awesome iPhone apps.  I only selected free ones;  it’s the thought that counts, right?

•    Quad Camera – Takes pics in that fun photo booth format.  Save cash on souvenirs.

•    MyMate – Stores information such as your loved one’s favorite color, song, perfume, clothing size, and ahem, some of their “critical” days.  That way you won’t be panicking and reading posts like this one at the next major event.

•    Still looking?  Check out SpeedDate.  You might be amazed at how many users are on this site.  You might get frustrated that you can’t save “the good ones” or store your password information.

Finally, if you’re in love with a gamer,  they’ll love some new duds for their avatar.  Stop by the virtual mall and pick out a fresh new look.  The good news is that you’ll never have to wash them.
